Bitter Virgin – Volume 2

Bitter Virgin Volume 2 Cover

The last chapter had left off with the unstable Kazuki with a pair of scissors in hand ready to attack our shy heroin. Luckily just in the nick of time Suwa screams out to Kazuki for them to walk home together before she could do any damage.

Kazuki is still forcing her one sided love upon Suwa, very bitter that he has begun to look at another girl while all this time she has done nothing but try to get his attention.

Suwa is worried about Aikawa and what was going to happen between her and Kazuki. Thinking it would be for the best, he decides to start avoiding Aikawa, to focus his attention all on Kazuki to make sure she doesn’t attempt something again. Of course he’s faking, badly most of the time; and worse yet he just can’t stop thinking about Aikawa.

Later on Yuzu, a classmate of Aikawa and Suwa, puts Kazuki in her place as the two confront each other. Yuzu gets Kazuki to admit that her love is one sided and that Suwa has never once told her that he loved her. Yuzu stands her ground not afraid of the pair of scissors Kazuki had begun to hold onto.

The other half of the manga is pretty serious. I won’t get any further, since that would defeat the entire purpose, but needless to say the inevitable happens once again.

It delves into Aikawa’s past and how it all began. Beginning with her remarrying mother and the new father in her life and how it all turned out oh so wrong.

Impressions – What an improvement. The first volume felt pretty awkward to me since the topic was pretty serious and the manga was attempting bits of humor, it just didn’t feel right. Anyways, we got a lot of background story this time around.

Poor poor Aikawa, only if she spoke up more for herself. But she shut her mouth to keep her mom happy, what in the world is this girl thinking. To make matters worse her mother didn’t seem to be all there either, but at least she went all psycho and she and Mr. Knife got some overdue revenge, I think.

Oh, I don’t have the last chapter, because it’s not out, but I felt like blogging something today, so whatever, I have no idea how this ends.
