Bleach – 144

Woot, Bleach is back.

Ichigo, Chad, and Ishida finally arrive at Hueco Mundo. Ichigo begins by blabbering his head off thinking it would be faster to get the attention of someone and beating information out of him than to sneak around not knowing where they are.

After escaping a few classic traps such as a collapsing floor and a rolling border in a narrow hallway, two low-ranked Arrancar appear. Ichigo is told to take a back seat during this fight and watch Ishida and Chad go at it. It would be best for him to conserve his energy till they find Inoue.

Ishida doesn’t start off his fight too well as he’s literally being swat like a fly by the huge hands of Demoura. Chad isn’t off to a fantastic start either as his attacks and speed in general are far to slow to reach his opponent. Ichigo tries to get in the action but is pushed off to the side.

The tables finally turn as Ishida goes back to the basics. He and Chad switch opponents, to fight power with power and speed with speed.

Impressions – Liking the new opening, animation and content wise. I could care less about the song. Anyways pretty good episode, great to see Chad and Ishida finally kicking some butt. But they were a bit too cocky for my tastes. The final tongue attack was pretty nasty, could have been grosser if it was all slimy and covered with saliva, but I guess they don’t have the budget to make that happen now do they. As for Chad’s special attack we didn’t get to see, I thought he was going to pull a Scryed reference attack. If you’ve seen Scryed you know what I’m talking about. As for Ishida’s new Spirit Bow, I thought it looked pretty weak. They definitely could have done a better job designing that thing.
