The story was really performing this time around. It has been a long time since One Piece’s story has managed to reach this level which was achieved way back when during the Arlong Saga and Nami’s storyline.

With the Galley-La Company shipwrights now apart of the action, Luffy has to deal with them and Franky at the same time. Franky however is getting pissed off because he is being ignored by everyone around him. Not the one to be left out of the picture, Franky begins to charge a massive air ball attack that completely demolishes the entire shipyard. With things still hectic and people recovering from the attack, Luffy and Nami take advantage of the situation and flee from the scene.
This was so good I actually marathoned 40 episodes in a span of two days and now forcing myself to stop. I have enjoyed this arc so much I just had to come back and start doing short recaps before I continue on.
I am in love with this new arc.
What a story so far, the initial episodes were a bit slow, but did a nice job of introducing us to Water 7, a city of water canals and seahorse driven boats, well what at least looked like seahorses. Luffy, Usopp, and Nami venture out into the city and exchange their gold into real hard cash, unaware of the local bounty hunters lurking in the shadows ready to snag it all.
Oh my, what a bad ass episode. Admiral Aokiji completely destroyed the entire Luffy gang.
Lucky for them this guy is so laid back about everything he can’t seem to finish what he starts. Good thing too since Robin was pretty much a goner if he had really cared to finish her off. Robin is my favorite character in the show so they better not get rid of her. Odd thing is she still hasn’t done much of anything, literally, since she joined the crew she has done nothing but read books all the time. Makes you wonder what the hell she’s reading, steamy romance novels? How that makes her my favorite character I don’t know, but maybe it’s because she has such a mysterious background to her that hasn’t been explored much at all. Aokiji has given us a hint on her past, hopefully something the upcoming saga will delve into.
