Claymore – 07

This episode was a can full of kick ass. And just to think the fight is only half over too.

Summary – Teresa and Clare stop by a hotel to take a long awaited rest. However, it doesn’t last too long as Teresa senses the presence of three unusually high Yoki. Sent by the organization Sophia, Noel, and Irene have come for her head. Teresa not wanting Clare to get involved tries to suppress her Yoki as best as she could in hope that they would simply pass by.

Teresa knows that running away will be impossible with these three so she prepares for the upcoming battle. Irene barges through the door first and makes her presence known. She is known as “Flash Sword Irene” for her ability to draw her sword and strike an opponent in a flash. However her technique proves inadequate as it is parried by Teresa who comments that if her sword stops flashing she is nothing.

After a quick skirmish Teresa is now out on the town square. Suddenly she notices a fourth Claymore among them, Priscilla, a rookie Claymore who has taken the title and rank of Number Two. Teresa had not been able to detect her all this time and is surprised to see this girl’s fighting strength as she is quickly pressured to be on her toes while fighting this newcomer.

Like Teresa, Priscilla is able to fight without using her Yoma powers. Teresa has the superior ability to detect Yoki in the heat of the battle, thus someone like Irene who uses Yoki to perform her Flash Sword technique can be read and countered quite easily. Priscilla who has learned to suppress most of her Yoki is now at the advantage since her actions cannot be predicted.

Priscilla is fighting on par with Teresa as she is able to avoid and strike evenly with her as the clashing of their swords causes the town to tremble.

However as the battle progresses Priscilla notices that either she has gotten slower or Teresa has gotten much faster for her control of the battle is diminishing. Teresa takes a good look at Clare and tells Priscilla that she is not ready to die just yet. As Teresa is in strike to kill Priscilla, the other Claymores who have been watching up until now join in the battle and save Priscilla. Irene tells them that they have a mission to accomplish and that letting Priscilla fight Teresa one on one is not the way to achieve it, thus all four Claymores begin to release their immense Yoma powers.

Impressions – Man that was good. Priscilla is such a tool. But you really can’t blame her, since she doesn’t know any better. The scene where we see nothing but a blur as they strike each other with their swords is really something. It’s really a shame that when this arc ends we have to go back to that moron Raki. Man I hate Raki. Doesn’t beat a young Clare I’ll tell you that.
