Kono Aozora – 01

While browsing the good old bots this morning I stumbled upon this little show. I was not familiar with it nor did I ever see it blogged so I gave it a try. It started off pretty good but then at the end took itself a bit too seriously.

Summary – Wataru is in a predicament. He has woken up this morning to see a girl in nothing but her bra and panties sleeping right next to him. One of his many female dorm mates then comes into his room and screams at the top of her lungs. This mysterious girl eventually wakes up and punches him in the face accusing him of the obvious. Wataru explains to her that he really does not know how in the world she has ended up in his room. She crabs her clothes and jumps out of the second floor window.

Two days later she has transferred into Wataru’s class. Sawaki is not in the happiest of moods, as she does not even introduce herself to the class.

Wataru and the rest of the girls decide to have a little welcome party picnic and invite Sawaki. During the picnic it appears Sawaki is not coming. Umi decides that she will go remind Sawaki of the picnic but as she is about to enter the house she sees Sawaki coming out. Sawaki tells her to not get the wrong impression. She has not come outside for the picnic nor does she have any intentions of every becoming friends with her and everyone else in the dormitory.

She says she does not want to become friends with them since everyone would be leaving within a year anyways and thus it would be painful to separate if she becomes good friends with them. Apparently an aviation company has ordered for their evacuation within a year.

Impressions – It’s really a shame because this show was actually very enjoyable to watch during the first 15 minutes or so. It’s just when it got to the end it turned way too sappy for me and it got really bad. It’s nice being friends and all but Umi did not have to cry her heart out because this one girl refused to be her friend.
